Owning the skies

 The inaugural UK Counter Drone Conference and Exhibition, set to take place at Larkhill, the British Army’s Export Support , Exhibition and Range Facility in November 2024, promises two dynamic days of discourse and demonstration at the forefront of counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS). The event kicks off on Tuesday with a military-focused conference, drawing Defence Attaches, Ministers, industry leaders, and academia. The morning sessions delve into critical topics such as lessons learned from Ukraine and the increasing threat of unmanned aircraft systems incursions. The Ministry of Defence's tender notice for C-UAS procurement underscores the urgency, with a spotlight on Electro-Magnetic DETECT and/or DEFEAT capabilities. Attendees will witness live range demonstrations showcasing cutting-edge C-UAS systems, followed by an evening of interactive demos and networking over curry and BBQ. Wednesday's agenda expands to include civil applications, addressing new policies, police powers, and facility protection strategies. The day's discussions span from testing and evaluation to the integration of AI detection in C-UAS systems. Notable themes include technology development, government engagement, and experts panel discussions.
